Reader's Theater Podcast

We have officially finished our first Reader's Theater unit and I think it was a success! We performed the Reader's Theater for a group of fourth graders and first graders and I think they really enjoyed our performance. We also recorded our Reader's Theater as a Podcast so you can take a listen. Please leave us a comment if you liked our performance.

What I think about bloging

I  love the idea of blogging about Readers Theater. This is a good way to communicate with our parents and a lot of other people. Also it is a lot fun to think that an author could see our blog or our Readers Theater.Another good reason is that it is a really good way to talk to our teacher. Also doing this is so much fun to write these papers. One more good reason is that we can talk to authors if one does come across our blog. This is why blogging is a good idea.

Will

Blog Away!

What have I learned so far about Readers Theatere

You know what I think about Readers Theater... it rocks! But I wish I was a character like a pig , pig number 3 of course it is the only pig that stays alive, but instead I'm narrator 5. Oh well I guess they will see my full potential afterward and next time I'll be like a main character. Next time I'll probably show you I'm more than a narrator.

One of the voices in Reader's Theater

Why is having "VOICE" so important in Reader's Theater?Well, I don't really need a voice because I'm narrator 3 and 4 in the story The True Story of the Three Little Pigs!, but I need expression. If  you put some voice and expression in a play or something like that, the whole thing will just bright up. The whole thing will come to life.Even if you are a narrator, you could just put expression in your voice.

Why Is Having "VOICE" So Important In Reader's Theater

Every teacher you have will ask, "Why is having voice so important in reader's theater?" Some people don't know what that means, but if you want me to I can tell you. Well here it goes...
If your teacher asks you that question and she calls your name you most likely will panic, I know I did. The teacher doesn't expect you to have a perfect but they still want you to know the correct answer. Having voice means that the person that is listening to you will know what you actually mean. That is what I think having voice in reader's theater is all about!

Voice is soooooooo important!

I'm the survivor of the 3 pigs so I have to have to a few different voices. I have an excited, surprised, and demanding voice. If I just talked the audience would get bored and think "Kill me!" You don`t want them to think that. Have a good voice and a great day!

Sadie

Why is voice important?

I think voice is important because if you don't use voice it is too boring for the audience or the reader.Think of it like this,if you read a book that had no voice, you'd practicly fall asleep.Or if you were reading a script, you'd yawn and loose interest. If you were listening to a play with no voice, you wouldn'like it,would you? That is why I think voice is important.

To Blog or not to Blog?

Blogging is actually a very good idea. You can share ideas and feelings. People can leave comments if they like it or have ideas for another blog they could post. Blogging is a very fun way to tell others about things.

Matt

What Do You Think About Blogging?

What do you think about blogging? I think blogging is an AWESOME way to show how you feel about your part, your story and your feelings. You SHOULD blog on this website. I mean, who wouldn't??!!

My Opinion About Blogging

What do I think about blogging you ask? Well I think it's good. Well, that is my opinion. Why you ask I like blogging? It's because you can learn about other people's feelings.

Example:

Also being a narrator, you won't be a big star like the three pigs. Just like being a teammate of a star basketball or soccer player. Just call me the background. For being a background, I'm pretty lucky to write a post. Also being the last narrator, it makes it more lucky. It is still fun being in the reader's theater.

What I Think About Reader's Theater

I`m so excited about Reader`s Theater. My character is so challenging to find a voice. I think my voice needs to be squeaky but I just can`t get it right. My character is the third pig. All though I am the only pig that doesn`t get eaten it is very hard to find the voice. But readers theater will be so much fun because it dosen`t need any props or anything all you need is your voice. Well I can`t wait for Reader`s Theater.
Will

The Mean Hungry Wolf

I am so happy about being the big bad wolf because I get to eat two pigs. You better wish that you were in readers theater because it is so much fun ,and you get to learn at the same time. You also learn how to change to change your voice. My voice is very deep.It is kind of funny being tricked in the book, but not in real life.I am so happy to be able to do readers theater. You don`t know what your missing.

Doom of The Fisrt Little Pig

I'm the first little pig ,so I have to talk in a high squeaky voice. It's sooooooooo fun!!!!!!Reader's Theater is a great idea because it helps you read better and have fun.One other thing is it helps you make new friends. Some other things about it is you get to put it on a this blog, preform it,and you get to rewrite the script!

-Maria

About Reader's Theater

Many people think reader's theater is just reading from a script. It is much more than that! You have to find a voice that suits your charter. That, for some people is the hardest part, but not for me. The hardest part for me is follwing along. If I were to glance away from my script I would loose track of where I was. Reader's theater is actually really enjoable to the people that don't enjoy reading as much as others. Those are some things about reader's theater.

Welcome!

Our scripts!
Welcome students and friends to our reader's theater blog page.

Here our students will be reflecting on the reader's theater project that we are doing this year in Mrs. Zawacki's fourth grade focus class. I am Mrs. Schmidt, our schools media specialist and will assist Mrs. Zawacki this year with this part of her class.

This year our students will not only perform prepared reader's theater scripts, but will also create their own scripts and perform them. We are also hoping to create podcasts and slide shows highlighting what we are doing in class.

Check back often for more posts from Mrs. Zawacki and myself and also from our students on what is going on in our class.
